About Me

Hi, I’m Lisa

Taking a portrait workshop

Lisa Nolan is an award winning artist based in central Victoria. She has been drawing since she could hold a pencil, and draws every day. During the pandemic, zoom life drawing became a necessity, and although she still regularly attends zoom sessions, it is a pleasure to return to in real life sessions.

Lisa’s work is in collections internationally and her work is widely exhibited in Australia.  She was invited to be part of the Scottish Borders Life Drawing Group that exhibited in Albi in 2022, in the south of France with work created in the  online sessions.

Lisa has two solo exhibitions in 2023, Local Views at Unicorn Lane, Ballarat and ReFrame at 26 Advantage, Highett.

Portraiture has always fascinated Lisa, and when working as a court artist she covered some of the most notorious cases in Victoria and Tasmania. When the occasion allows, she loves ‘sniper drawing,’ or drawing unsuspecting people while in public spaces.

She also loves the landscape and often paints the central Victorian landscape where she lives.

A well-respected teacher, she conducts workshops in portraiture, the figure, landscape and still life, and in a range of various media.
