About Me

Hi, I’m Lisa

Taking a portrait workshop

I am a visual artist based near Ballarat in central Victoria. I have  been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and draw and paint at every opportunity.

My work is in collections nationally and internationally I’ve been widely exhibited in Australia.

I had two solo exhibitions in 2023, Local Views at Unicorn Lane, Ballarat and ReFrame at 26 Advantage, Highett.

I was invited to be part of the Scottish Borders Life Drawing Group that exhibited in Albi in 2022, in the south of France with work created in the  online sessions. I will be exhibiting again with this group in Edinburgh during the Fringe Festival in 2024.

Portraiture has always fascinated me, and when working as a court artist I covered some of the most notorious cases in Victoria and Tasmania. When the occasion allows, I love ‘sniper drawing,’ or drawing unsuspecting people while in public spaces.

Landscape is another great love, I often paint the central Victorian landscape where I live.

I am a well-respected teacher and I conduct workshops in portraiture, the figure, landscape and still life, and in a range of various media.

Recently I have been working with Possum Portraits, a registered bereavement care charity supporting families after pregnancy and baby loss.
